The live bus tracking feature on the Cardiff Bus website and app can now tell passengers if the bus they’re waiting for has many or few passengers on board. This information is gathered from the ticket machine and customers on the bus, helping passengers decide on their best journey option.

The new feature will show information about the bus including its capacity, the bus type and features of the bus e.g. Wi-Fi and USB chargers.

On the Cardiff bus website, passengers can click on the bus icon on the map of each timetables page to access this information.

For app users, if you've selected a route as a favourite, you'll be able to track the buses on the Explore page. Simply click on a bus on the map and information about the bus will pop up. When you see the registration plate and the vehicle type, swipe up to view more information including the capacity.  

If travelling on a bus where the current capacity is marked as 'unknown', passengers can help other passengers by updating the information themselves. By clicking on 'Let other passengers know’, customers to state whether the bus stop is busy, moderate or quiet so that other passengers can decide on the best time to travel. This feature is currently only available via the Cardiff Bus website.
