The Ageing Well Card

The Ageing Well Card

12 July 2018

What is it?

The Ageing Well Card supports older people to maintain their independence and to continue to do the things that matter to them.

The cards include simple messages that can be used to let people know that you might need a little help or support and are provided in an easily-recognisable travelcard wallet.

The scheme is based on the Better Journey and Safe Journey schemes developed by First Group, and designed to complement existing regional schemes such as the Pembrokeshire Passport and Orange Wallet.

Where can I use the cards?

Ageing Well Cards are designed to be used in a variety of situations and places. They can be particularly useful in shops, cafés, restaurants, banks, pharmacies, and on public transport, where you can use them to let people know that you would like a little additional help or support.

How else can I support the scheme?

Tell friends, family, colleagues and neighbours about the Ageing Well Card scheme.

Talk to local businesses and ask if they would be happy to support the scheme.

How can my organisation or business get involved?

Supporting the Ageing Well Card scheme doesn’t require any special training. Let your staff and colleagues know about the scheme and ask that they recognise the cards and are responsive to people with them. This is a great way to start to make your business more age-friendly.
