Disruptions

Please be aware that the following services are still disrupted following Storm Ciara and Storm Dennis in recent weeks:

 

Buses

Gwynfor Coaches

24/2/2020 @ 11:00

No 83 Service (Deiniolen - Caernarfon)

The road closed at Crawia, Llanrug due to flooding.

We are still able to serve Llanrug and Bethel using a diverted route, but this may cause delays.

 

Llew Jones

All of our routes (19, X19, 70, 75, 68 and 42) are running on time and are operating using their usual routes.

 

Lloyds Coaches

Dyfi Bridge now open

T2 X29,30 and 34 will resume to normal service as soon as possible

All other services will operate as normal but may change at short notice due to weather conditions.

Bus service 69 will only be operating a limited service from Chepstow to Tintern (normal times)

W3/W4/W5 will not operate

Stagecoach South Wales

Please check the Stagecoach South Wales website throughout the day for further updates on services.

At present, ALL services are running as normal except those mentioned below:

The E3 is running but due to the closure of the A4046 we cannot serve between Aberbeeg and Railway Terrace in Cwm. We are operating the normal route between Brynmawr and Aberbeeg but then are running directly to Ebbw Vale. From Ebbw Vale the service is running to Marine Street in Cwm before returning to Ebbw Vale. We're working with Blaenau Gwent Council and we'll update when we receive more information on this page and on twitter. A temporary timetable is available here.

 

Tanat Valley Coaches

All services into Shrewsbury will start and terminate at Frankwell roundabout.

81/T12 is unable to serve Caerhowel

S1 football bus will only operate between Shire Hall and the football ground

Trains

Transport for Wales

Flooding continues to cause problems on a number of train lines, including those outlined below. We encourage customers to check the Transport for Wales website for updates throughout the day including last minute cancellations and delays.

 

Llandudno Junction to Blaenau Ffestiniog

Line remains closed, a rail replacement bus service is in operation between Llandudno Junction & Blaenau Ffestiniog.

 

Cambrian Line

The line between Machynlleth and Shrewsbury is closed. As a result there are no rail services running between Shrewsbury and Machynlleth. Road transport has been recruited but is subject to local road conditions. A timetable for Tuesday 24th can be found here.

 

Valley Lines

Aberdare - line is currently closed due to track damage to a three-mile section. An hourly train service is in operation to and from Mountain Ash, supplemented by a rail replacement bus service between Pontypridd and Aberdare. Any one for rail replacement bus services please use the Michael Sobel Leisure Centre at Aberdare, please use the station car park at Abercynon.

Buses will operate on Tuesday 25th. A timetable can be found here.

 

Services to and from Shrewsbury station

Due to rising water levels on the river Severn some rail services to and from Shrewsbury station will be disrupted. Please check your journey.

Services to and from the south of Shrewsbury i.e. to and from Cardiff will not run. Trains will run to and from Hereford with bus replacement in operation between Hereford and Shrewsbury.

Services to and from the east of Shrewsbury i.e. to and from Birmingham will not run. West Midlands trains are sourcing replacement buses however customers travelling between Shrewsbury and Birmingham are advised to travel via Crewe.

The Cambrian line remains closed with a bus operation in place.

The Heart of Wales line will be served by a replacement bus between Llanwrtyd and Shrewsbury.

Lines north of Shrewsbury i.e. to and from the Chester and Crewe directions remain unaffected at this time.

Ticket acceptance is in place with West Midlands Trains, Cross Country and Great Western to allow passengers to travel via Bristol, Birmingham and Stafford.
